Draft. This page is a starter draft that has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. It describes how Quickk works today but is not final.
This policy explains what personal data Quickk collects, why we collect it, and your rights. We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, username, email address and, if you give it, your phone number.
- Security data: your password and transaction PIN. We store these only in a scrambled, irreversible form (hashed), never as plain text.
- Transactions: wallet fundings, purchases and refunds. For each one we keep the amount, the recipient number, meter or smartcard, the status and a reference.
- Saved recipients: any numbers, meters or smartcards you choose to save, and their nicknames.
- Referrals: who referred you, and who you referred.
- Technical data: your IP address, used to limit login and purchase attempts and to protect against abuse.
We do not see or store your card details. Card payments happen entirely on Paystack’s checkout.
Why we use it
- To run your account and wallet, and to deliver the purchases you make.
- To send verification emails, receipts and security notices, such as a PIN change or a lock.
- To prevent fraud and keep accurate financial records.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
- Paystack, to process wallet funding. If you ask for a bank-transfer account number, we send Paystack your BVN, name, phone number and the bank account you give us, so it can confirm your identity and open the account. We don't keep your BVN.
- Our top-up provider, which passes your purchase to the network or biller. It receives the recipient number, meter or smartcard, and the amount.
- Our email provider, to deliver account and receipt emails.
- Error monitoring, to help us fix problems. This is configured not to send personal data.
- Authorities, where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep transaction records for as long as financial and tax rules require. We keep account details while your account is open.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Some transaction records must be kept even after you close your account. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed to keep you logged in and protect forms. These are a session cookie and a CSRF cookie. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
